Anonymous asked: That's actually not the reason.
It's that you point out all of the problems that women have (some are actual problems, some aren't) and you act as if you're the only ones that deal with it.
Men suffer from body image standards too. Men suffer from eating disorders. Men commit suicide more often than women. Men are expected to be the head of the household and the one that makes more money and shamed if they aren't. Men have it bad too. This whole society is fucked up for everyone, not just women and women don't have to deal with more. Some women do have more problems than men, some men have more problems than women.
Stop separating people and realize that you can't fight for one side while ignoring the other. Equality won't come that way. Equality definitely won't come if you're grouping everyone that disagrees with feminism into one little box. We don't all fit into that category.
It's funny. I see feminists labeling and grouping people more than anti-feminists most of the time. And I'm not even on either side.

The problems women have are attached to the roles attached to the genders we have in society. Naturally, there will be a complementary role for the complementary gender that so happens to be more valued.

There is a stigma against being “feminine.” Being too small as a male is typically assumed to being effeminate. And regardless, women are subjected to impossible standards of beauty at a disproportionate rate to men.

Suicide happens for a lot of reasons and does not have to be attached to gender.

Men are expected to be the head of the household because women obviously can’t do it. It’s the complementary role: a master to an inferior. They are expected to be the primary breadwinner because the woman is supposed to spend more of her time at home keeping the house in order.

And I agree with you that society is unbearable for many reasons aside from gender. Life can be hard for many reasons.

But regardless, gender is an integral part of the inequality that exists within all aspects of life. The roles attached to it create molds and expectations for both genders that not every individual can fit into.

Feminism is relevant because at this point in the game, femininity is at a disadvantage. Its attributes are considered weaknesses. The endgame is to place femininity on the same level as masculinity so that neither will be more preferable than another. It is about eradicating the gender roles.

This is not about ignoring the other side. If anything, doing so would be nothing but unproductive. It is about awareness and breaking free from social constructs to be a sovereign person.
